OSU Cycling Club meeting will be at 8:00 pm on Thursday April 12 in classroom 178 of the Colvin Center.

2012 OSU Cycling Team Scores Big in Norman at OU Cycling Land Ronde

The OSU Cycling team competed in Norman, OK in South Central Collegiate Cycling Conference (SCCCC) http://www.thescccc.org/ action on March 10-11, 2012.  Scoring for the Pokes this year were Zack Sutton and Brian Metz capturing podium spots in the road race with Zack finishing 2nd and Brian 3rd in the B race.    Later in the team time trial OSU captured gold winning with only 2 racers on the B squad.  Racers making their Cowboy debut were Alex Hammond (5th place), John Staskal (16th place) and Trevor Steward (19th place) in the category D collegiate road race on Saturday.  The success rolled over into Sunday’s criterium with Zack capturing 2nd place and Brian Metz grabbing 4th place to complete the days action.  For Zack Sutton it was his sixth podium spot in two years racing for the Cowboy Cycling team which ties him with Justin Buchanan for first place all-time for the Cowboys.

New Kits

Hey everyone,

Zack Sutton here and after talking to a few members (and non-members) who have almost worn out their old kits, we decided to invest in the motto “Buy nice or buy twice” and are looking at ordering some high quality Louis Garneau kits that look pretty awesome. I know the first thing you’re thinking is a time frame and getting them in mid season, but the club and I have made a design and it is in the final stages of getting approved, so a realistic delivery date would be early May! I’ve attached the designs we have so far (that need to be slightly edited), but will give you a rough idea of what we were thinking about. A deadline to let me know what you would like (don’t worry about sizing or payment till the 26th or 27th) will be WEDNESDAY MARCH 21st BY 7:00PM that way we stand a chance at getting them before everyone leaves. I will order a fit kit as well from Louis Garneau to have at District Bicycles after spring break so that you can try on a sample if you are unsure about sizing. Arrangements can be made to mail your kit if it’s something you’d be interested in. The costs below are approximate but the kits will be pretty top notch and will definitely last you a few years!

Cycling Club Meeting

OSU Cycling club meeting  will be held on Thursday January 19 at 6pm in classroom 174 of the Colvin  to discuss winter ride schedule and upcoming spring races. Club T-shirts will be available for purchase at $15 and if you have not paid your annual dues please do so at the meeting they are $20 for the year.
